If you've bought anything from our online store you can return it for a no questions asked refund.  The goods returned must be in re-saleable condition.  See refund options for info on how you can receive your refund.

Faulty Products

Where practical all radio control toys are tested prior to dispatch from our warehouse - this ensures that you are receiving a quality product from day one.  In the case of faulty radio control toys we will initially attempt to diagnose the problem via email or phone and if needed replacement parts will be dispatched.  Due to the high level of ‘incidents' that occur with radio control toys our packages only come with an ‘out of the box' warranty - this means we guarantee the product to work out of the box.  However if you do have a problem with your heli at any point from 12 months of purchase we're not going to run away, send us an email and if the problem is deemed to be a fault we will replace the part immediately and at no cost.  Please note that in some cases the problem is caused by improper use or crash damage - in these cases a new part will need to be purchased.  For faulty parts we also require the part to be returned or an email sent to sales@controlfreaks.co.nz outlining the problem with the part and if possible some photos of the fault and we'll see how we can help.

Options for Returns and Faulty Products

1.  Exchange
Exchange your product for another one - return postage is at the buyers cost, we will freight the replacement product free of charge.

2.  Credit
Buying from us again? - we can refund your purchase amount and the original postage cost  as a store credit, allowing you to use the refunded amount for future purchases. 

3.  Refund
Want your money back? - return postage is at the buyers cost and once received we will process a credit for the value of your original purchase.  Refunds will be given in the original currency of the purchase and either mailed as a cheque or refund via bank transfer.  You will need to advise us of either your account details for online payment or postal address for cheque payment.

Returns Procedure

1.    Email us with details of the problem or let us know if you've changed your mind about something you purchased.  Also advise us whether you would like a credit, refund or exchange.

2.    Pack the goods and arrange appropriate freight via a courier or postal provider

3.    Once the goods have been received and we have confirmed they are in saleable condition (or faulty) we will process your refund, credit or exchange.

What would a Returns Policy be without the legal bit?  At Controlfreaks we will always endeavour to go above and beyond remedies outlined in New Zealand legislation.  Shown below are the two major acts that help to keep you safe and traders honest.

Consumer Guarantees Act 1993

The Consumer Guarantee Act sets out minimum standards for goods sold by retailers.  The act stipulates that if goods sold are not of good quality or are faulty, the customer has the right to a repair, replacement or a refund.

Fair Trading Act 1986

The Fair Trading Act is designed to protect the customer being misled, either intentionally or unintentionally. This applies to all aspects of the promotion and sale of goods and services including: pricing; where the product was made; where the product is from; the meeting of New Zealand safety standards; availability of products in store and the sales techniques used. The Commerce Commission enforces the Fair Trading Act 1986.
